This trailer was chosen because of its creepiness. The creepiness remains after you watch the trailer. The creepy images and upbeat song may play over and over in your mind after viewing the trailer.  I still see that creepy little girl when I close my eyes sometimes. The trailer is memorable and informative. The viewer gets a feel for the game and a preview of the weapons used in the games. Let me know if the song gets trapped in your head. Continue reading

Gears of War Mad Last Day

This trailer spot combines three trailers for Gears of War 2. It starts with the Mad World trailer. Gary Jules sings, “Dreams in which I’m dying are the best the I’ve ever had”, as Marcus Fenix runs through a destroyed city in the rain. Is that why Marcus continues mission after mission he has a fascination with death, or is the player’s fascination? Psychoanalysis aside, I like the way the music and imagery from the game fit together in a way that makes you think about more the war then the shooting. Continue reading

I enjoy watching video game trailers, even if I have no interest in buying the game. I watch trailers because of the artistry and technology, the more creative and visually stimulating the trailer the more I like it. Game trailers that go beyond dramatic music and a big climax to sell a game are the best. Interesting game trailers are the ones, which make you feel something and leave an impression.
