I love Google Doodles. The artists are so talented and creative. I spent hours trying to choose my favorite Google Doodles of 2012. Google displayed 77 artistic version of their logo in 2012. The majority of the 2012 Google Doodles had a global theme. A lot of the doodles focused on the day of independence for various countries or a national day for a country. Almost a fourth of the doodles were dedicated to the Olympics. All 77 of the doodles were creative. However, these 10 Google Doodles are my favorites of 2012:
10. August 12, 2012
The closing ceremony for the 2012 Olympics was fun. It was great seeing representatives from all over the world celebrating and having a good time. Plus we got to see the Spice Girls perform and Google spiced up our lives with this doodle.
9. September 23, 2012
Google celebrated Solomiya Krushelnytska’s 140th irthday. She was a Ukrainian opera singer. She saved Giacomo Puccini’s opera Madama Butterfly with her voice and became a legend. I like the soft colors. 2012 was a year of vibrant color for Google Doodles. This doodle was softer and simpler than most, but very pretty. Plus, I like butterflies.
8. December 16, 2012
Zoltán Kodály’s 130th birthday is the doodle of the day. He was Hungarian music educator. His approach to music education is the basis for the Kodály Method, Love how Google incorporates the hand signs which were used as part of his teachings in doodle.

Google showed its support and solidary with everyone who opposes censorship on the web. Anti-PIPA & SOPA outcries covered the Internet that day and Google covered it’s logo. It was a simple but powerful statement, “Don’t censor the web”.

12-12-12 won’t come around for a 100 years. I was glad to see Google marked the day with an awesome doodle. One of my favorite Google independence doodles for 2012 is for Kenya. Google celebrated Kenya’s day of independence in a really cool way. Love the lion head and postage stamp for Os.
